Here, after a very successful session at the
recent Incontact conference, Irene Lambert outlines the practice of
Kinesiology.
Each one of us is unique, carrying within our
bodies our own varying amounts of physical pain and discomfort. They are the
physical manifestations of all the problems and stresses experienced over our
entire lifetime. This is normal and fortunately can be addressed by
understanding and responding positively. We need to take responsibility and look
into our own lives and address the fundamental root causes of our
problems.
All good medical practitioners now acknowledge
the need to consider the mind and spirit of a person as well as the body. They
are all interconnected. I have been privileged to be able to demonstrate, with
'taster' sessions and a workshop, this linkage and the effects on the body.
Most people at the 2003 Conference were able to gain some understanding of the
root causes of their problems through a technique called 'Health Kinesiology'
(bio energetic feedback by muscle testing).
Some of my most successful results have been
with irritable bowel syndrome (I.B.S.), identifying causal allergies or
tolerance problems to many substances including a number of common foodstuffs.
To a Health Kinesiologist, an allergy is a reaction to a substance that the body
no longer recognises and hence deals with inappropriately at a cellular level.
Similar, but to a lesser degree, is a tolerance problem, when the body still
recognises the substance but then can only metabolise a very small amount before
it too starts to cause a problem. For instance, a client may not have an allergy
to wheat but a tolerance problem. By testing it is found the client can eat one
slice of bread as a portion but the portion can only be eaten every few days.
Symptoms only occur if the substance is eaten more often. Treatment is simple
once the tolerance problem has been identified: reduce the frequency of
consumption and eat within tolerance levels of the substance.
It is now also widely accepted that traumas,
grief and fears all play a part in reducing the effectiveness
of how our bodies function. Grief is a natural process but without help it is
easy to become stuck instead of gently progressing through the stages of
recovery. Health Kinesiology can often help in such cases by unlocking limiting
beliefs, phobias and fears, thereby reducing pain. Looking forward, there is
nothing to lose except fear and physical symptoms, and everything to gain.
