News for those who use prescribable continence, urology or stoma applicances
The Department of Health has issued a statement about the consultations on Part IX of the Drug Tariff. They state that no changes will be implemented in July 2007 as previously proposed.
The needs of patients are paramount and the Department is committed to ensuring that their care is maintained and, where appropriate, improved. The Department seeks to ensure that the NHS is receiving value for money and want to make sure that the services provided by all dispensing contractors are to the same standard no matter where in England a user of these applicances may live. They do not anticipate that the review of the responses to the consultation will be before the end of the year. They have assured Incontact that they will keep us updated.
